PASS Promoting Accessible Shows
PASS Promoting Accessible Shows is a two-year Creative Europe project that addresses the lack of equal participation and visibility of disabled and non-disabled artists in live and performing arts.
Partners from four countries – Italy, Finland, Greece and the Czech Republic – are working together to create a European accessible and multidisciplinary pilot show called Celebration of Life. This unique work combines music, theatre, dance and visual arts using technology. New music will be composed for the piece, premiere in Italy on 25 March 2025, before touring partner countries and arriving in Finland in May 2025.
PASS aims to provide performing arts practitioners with the knowledge and skills to create accessible artistic content that engages a wide range of audiences. The project will bring together stakeholders from different backgrounds to engage in meaningful discussions and promote collaboration to improve accessibility standards in the arts. The project will also create open accessibility guidelines based on the experience gained during the project.
PASS aims to increase the recognition and mobility of the arts in Europe and beyond. This will be done by bringing new talent to the stage and challenging stereotypes. At the heart of the project is a commitment to reaching new audiences, creating enriching and accessible experiences, and fostering a sense of belonging and joy.

Description of the Scenes
Scene I — Mama Erde
“Mama Erde” means Mother Earth in German. The show begins with the orchestra, whose music was created especially for this project by Valentina Scheldhofen Ciardelli. It is music that celebrates the joy of being human—of simply existing and living here, on this Earth.
The sound feels as though it rises from the ground itself: textured, solid, and alive. When we listen, it is as if the melody paints colors before our eyes, stirs images in our minds, or even awakens forgotten scents. This piece opens the journey, offering musical seeds that will grow and transform in the scenes to come. Music carries us forward—guiding us into the adventure ahead.
Scene II — Breaking the Ice
In a dreamlike Finnish forest, a solitary Stone meets a playful Fairy. At first, they are strangers—different, distant. But through music, movement, and magic, something begins to change. Their dance is delicate and strong at once, weaving contrasts into connection. Slowly, trust grows.
This is the awakening of friendship—the moment when two beings discover the wonder of understanding and the joy of acceptance. Light and color bloom around them, brought to life with CyMagic technology, where music becomes visible. The forest glimmers. The ice breaks.
Scene III — Joy of Life
Now we step into the human world, into a celebration alive with music, laughter, and love. Perhaps it is a wedding feast, overflowing with anticipation and delight. Inspired by the Song of Songs—one of the most beautiful love poems ever written—this scene captures the timeless spirit of human love: its longing, devotion, and joy.
But as with all beginnings, the air is charged with nerves, curiosity, even flickers of doubt. Guests glance at one another, preparations swirl into chaos, and excitement makes even the tables tremble. Yet out of the whirlwind comes harmony. The ritual is completed, and love prevails.
At last, the happiest moment arrives—a union, a promise, a day filled with light.
Scene IV — Before Time Began
Once, long before time itself, six beings awoke in emptiness. They did not know who they were or where they belonged, so they began to move—like children running barefoot through the unknown. As they moved, they remembered: what it feels like to love, to breathe, to be alive.
Their steps gave shape to a world. Their motions echoed like wind, like water, like dust drifting in sunlight. Flowers, stones, stars, and waves—all life began to stir within their dance. They moved as one, and in their unity, they were life itself.
Scene V — Celebration of Cultures
Four cultures arrive from different directions, each bringing its own rhythm, its own story, its own way of moving. At first, they are separate—but soon their paths intertwine. The characters meet, play, and dance together, discovering joy in one another’s differences.
Here, rhythm becomes language, and movement becomes connection. What began as four stories becomes one great celebration—a vibrant, shared song of life.
Interludes — Misty Promenade
Between the scenes drifts Misty Promenade—music like a soft veil of mist that carries us gently from one world to the next.
